Instructions for Taking Cialis with Success
Dosing
One of the most important aspects of taking any medication is proper dosage. Cialis may be prescribed in 10 mg, 20 mg, or 50 mg (with special permission) tablets, depending on the severity of the ED. The lowest dose is for men with mild ED—an erection in which the penis becomes only partially erect and isn’t suitable for intercourse. Moderate ED, for which 20 mg tablets are usually prescribed, results in a penis that may be hard enough for sex, but becomes flaccid soon after. The most severe cases of ED are defined as when the penis produces little or no erection at all during arousal.
Your doctor will be able to prescribe the right dose for you; typically, patients are started on the lowest dose and it is increased if proven to be unsuccessful at achieving a sufficient erection.
Never exceed your dosage; take only 1 pill ever 24 hours, and always swallow the pill in one piece—do not crush it, break it up, or consume it in any way other than specifically as prescribed.
Treating Underlying Causes
It is important to remember that ED is often a symptom of another health issue, and that issue could be potentially serious. Sometimes blood flow to the penis is reduced because of blockages that result from high cholesterol or high saturated fat diets. Poor diet can not only cause ED, but also obesity, diabetes, and heart disease. Make sure you talk to your doctor about the underlying cause of your ED and work on treating that while you take Cialis. If you can solve the cause, then you will be free from ED as well!
Food And Alcohol
You can take Cialis with or without food, as it will not become less effective (unlike other ED treatments).
Doctors generally recommend that you do not consume alcohol while taking Cialis.
What To Expect
Once you consume a Cialis tablet, you will be able to achieve an erection from arousal within 15-60 minutes (once you’ve taken Cialis several times you will know how long it takes your body to respond). Cialis will not force you to have an erection; it merely makes it easier when you are sexually excited.
Cialis does not make your penis larger, nor does it prevent pregnancy or reduce the transmission of STIs and STDs.
